Safety management systems do not have to be complex nor do they have to be a “certified” program. The basic elements of safety management include policy/goals and objectives, risk assessment, auditing/inspection, training and team member involvement, and leadership review. How you decide to implement and where you start is up to you. Systems can be customized from one production line to the entire company.
